Hooded rain poncho
A rain cape that covers you down to your boots
It pulls on over your head, drops all the way to your ankles, and spreads wide enough to cover your legs and the front of a scooter. If you have been getting wet from the knee down, this is the shape that fixes it.
Read this before you choose your size
This is an ankle-length garment. Every photograph on this page shows the hem sitting at the top of the wearer's boots, well below the calf. If you were picturing something that stops at the knee, this is longer than that — and that length is the point of it.
It is sold as one size, cut deliberately oversized so it goes on over a jacket and a backpack. Our supplier does not publish a length, chest or sleeve measurement for it, so we cannot give you a number to check yourself against. On a taller adult it will sit around the ankle; on a shorter adult it will run closer to the floor. If exact length matters to you, that is a real reason to wait.
The shape
Cut for sitting on a bike, not for hiking
The body flares from the chest into a wide sweep, so when you sit astride a scooter it falls over your thighs and knees and down the front of the machine. That is what the extra fabric is for.
The same cut is worth thinking twice about on a trail. A hem at ankle height with a wide sweep is a lot of loose fabric around your feet on uneven ground.
The front
A short zip, with studs folded over it
There is no full-length opening — it goes on over your head. A short zip runs from the throat to the middle of your chest, and a narrow storm flap studs down over the top of that zip so water runs across it instead of into it. The outer edge of the flap is finished with a pale grey binding.
The hood
Stiffened at the front so rain runs off ahead of your face
The hood holds a shaped peak over your brow rather than collapsing onto your forehead, and a drawcord with a small barrel lock at each side of the neck pulls it in. At the back of the hood there is a hook-and-loop tab that takes up the slack if the hood is deeper than you want.
What we will not tell you about it
This page used to carry a set of numbers and features we cannot stand behind, so they are gone. Here is what replaced them, and why.
- No water-resistance rating. A rating like that comes from a hydrostatic head test to a published standard. No such test result exists for this garment in anything our supplier provides, so no number appears here. The fabric is a coated Oxford-weave rainwear cloth and it sheds rain — that is a description of what it is, not a rated figure.
- The seams are sewn, not sealed. Every seam we can see in the supplier photography is an ordinary stitched seam. We have no documentation that any of them are taped or welded. Stitching puts needle holes through the fabric, and untaped seams are the usual place a rain garment lets water in, so plan for a long soaking to find them.
- The cuff is a turn-back, and we cannot see inside it. Every photograph we hold shows a plain straight turned-back outer cuff. The manufacturer’s own cuff detail image describes an elasticated inner cuff underneath it, but no photograph we hold shows the inside of the sleeve, so we are not going to tell you either way how well it seals at the wrist.
- It is not a shelter, a canopy or a ground mat. It is a sleeved, hooded, closed-front garment with no eyelets or corner tabs anywhere on it. It cannot be pitched or spread flat, and any suggestion otherwise belonged to a different product.
- The fiber is not published. "Oxford" names a way of weaving cloth, not what the cloth is made of. Our supplier states no composition, so this page states none rather than guessing at one. The manufacturer does publish a country of origin: it is made in China.

Colors are Khaki, Black and Green, photographed under neutral studio light; they will shift a little on your screen. Rinse it clean with water and hang it to dry.
Nobody has reviewed this one yet
This product has no customer reviews, so there is no rating on this page and nothing here is based on one. Everything above comes from the supplier's own photography and specification, and where that ran out we have said so instead of filling the gap.
